Since I purchased my CFMoto Adventura last year, I have only been on my former ride, the Hyosung GT650R, twice and last Fall I was unable to get it to start to fully winterize it. So, since my last ride on it in late June of last year it has just been sitting in my garage.
I originally had planned to donate it to Kars 4 Kids, but their towing services out of Milwaukee seemed very shady and were a no call, no show the first appointment. That was enough for me not to want to pursue that avenue anymore.
After that I reached out to my cousin, Steve, whom I purchased it from and did almost all of the work on it for me over the duration of the 18 years I’ve owned it, to see if he’d be interested in it and for free. He said YES! With today being the day he would pick it up.
I put almost 72k miles on this bike and loved it so much, but having two bikes is not for me and this year I have become so much more comfortable on the CFMoto. Gosh I have so many memories too from the trips over the years; many trips to MN, many trips through the Driftless Region, a trip to St. Louis in 2014, Copper Harbor, Mackinaw City and a plethora of weekend rides.
I was quite sad and heartbroken to let her go since she was such a good bike, but when my cousin showed up to pick her up, he informed me that he was so tickled to receive it because he was going to rebuild the front forks and get it ride-ready, including that I could come ride her (Betsy) whenever I wanted to by slapping on some dealer plates. Oh man! That warmed my heart so much!!! Since I wasn’t sure if he’d use it for parts because they do not make them anymore, so that was especially great news. Either way, I would have been okay that she wasn’t just sitting in my garage wasting/rotting away. And, I for sure got more than my money’s worth out of her, which none of my other riding friends ever thought would happen.
After quite a bit of doting over her, she was off to her new home. I am still getting choked up about it as I type this. My second and longest owned two-wheel love affair.
