October 23 Holy Hill

Another weekend with at least one day looking good for a ride, which was Sunday.  Highs in the sixties with sun and less breezy. Since most of the good fall colors are pretty much south of us, I planned to take us around Holy Hill and on Donegal Road just south of there which Kevin took us three weekends ago, but the remainder of our trip I planned different roads. Although it was supposed to be less breezy today than Saturday, the winds really picked up and got very gust about when we arrived around Holy Hill, so the balaclava stayed on the whole day. I planned a route taking us east out of town and then south through Dundee, and then pretty much a zig-zag to and south of West Bend. Ending us up at Sheryl’s Club 175 south of Slinger in Ackerville for lunch. Great burgers! I also liked that there is a picture of the owner around the bar area on her hog, on a ledge overlooking the Port Washington lighthouse. From there we went south through Hubertus, and to Hogsback Road to Emerald Road before getting onto Donegal Road. After a pit stop to take some more pictures of Holy Hill at the intersection of Dublin Road and Hwy 167 (which my phone cannot zoom on like my camera, grr), we headed north, a bit west and north/northeast back to Fondy (map below). Only 150 miles today.

My favorite video from today…
