I was attempting to plan a ride with our usual smaller group for Door County, but wasn’t having much luck with any takers except Nicki. So we mapped out a route the night before. Since we have already been losing a bit of daylight we did not include making it to Gills Rock or Washington Island on the ferry. We however planned to make it to Cave Point Park near Jacksonport on the Lake Michigan side, which we did and from there to Ephraim for lunch at Wilson’s. They were so crowded that we took our food to-go and ate it at the park across the street. We looked for a gift shop in Ephraim for Nicki to no avail, but I found a huge cluster of them in Fish Creek. From there we kept going down the Bay side back through Sturgeon Bay and only stopped for a draw bridge there and then kept going all the way into Chilton to stop at Scoops for a much needed stretch and ice-cream, of course! Although we were a little rushed to make it back before dusk it was still a very enjoyable ride and visit with Nicki.
