With pending rain overnight and into the morning we decided to plan something but for later in the day. By 10ish I think that the threat of rain had passed. I met up with Kevin at his place around noon and unfortunately he found his ST had a bad seal leak in the front right fork. Plus he developed some cold symptoms overnight. Luckily he has his older Magna yet to take for a ride, but we were definitely old schooling it without his GPS, etc. today. Given all of this we weren’t planning on much of a ride outside of going to Quinney so he could pick up the “Q” for his ST Group’s alphabet game. It was drastically chillier than yesterday and much breezier, which we knew to expect. After Quinney I just zig zagged all around southeast of there in Calumet, Sheboygan and Fond du Lac counties. After realizing Kevin needed fuel we stopped to check on the phones for the closest gas stations hence we were in St. Anna where there aren’t any. New Holstein was pretty much the closest and that is where we went. We figured we’d eat something too because it was around 1 and we both were hungry. While gassing up at the BP, I noticed the Altona Supper Club across the street appeared to be open so we opted for there. Upon arrival realized they only had a breakfast and lunch buffet and it looked really good, and was really good. We just don’t usually eat so much food at lunch time. I also had to make a stop at Ditter Plumbing. I have passed this place of business many times and know that it isn’t owned by any of my close family with more of a farming history, but probably related distantly somehow. I forgot to turn on my tracker but Kevin made a map that is pretty close to the roads we actually took today. Funny we drove yesterday pretty far north because the fall color website said there it was at 40-45% colors only to find that there were more fall foliage colors practically in our own back yard. Only 85 miles, map and pictures below.
