July 30 Manitowoc

Kevin and I decided to do another ride today, but didn’t give too much thought into it until late the evening prior. So I didn’t get a chance to notify anyone else to see if they might be interested. After updating my blog from yesterday’s ride, I just made a quick and pretty direct route to Manitowoc for lunch at Time Out Sports Bar & Grill. We arrived there around 1ish and ordered burgers since that’s all we could smell coming from their grills upon arrival, and what a good choice. Best burger I have had in quite a while! From there no route planned, except I wanted to head down along the lake front and stop for a little walk. We could see the smoke from the stacks of the S.S. Badger Ferry, so it had not left port yet. Kevin wanted to take Cty O north out of Trivers and back just because it is a very nice road through Point Beach State Park. Pretty curvy with lots of tall pine trees. After that we were going to take Lake Shore south out of Manitowoc when we happened to notice the S.S. Badger Ferry was still in port so we drove over to see it. Just as we turned around to park and take pictures it started to pull out for its trip over to Michigan. I have never been there as it departed so that was really neat to see. From Sheboygan we took Cty O around the airport and then J into Glenbeulah where we stopped at Mill Pond for a stretch and walk. From there we took almost the same roads as yesterday’s trip to Three Guy’s. With a later start and more stops, plus the dew points increasing we didn’t quite get to 200 miles today. Still, as always, great day of riding!
