May 30 Port Washington

Today was the best day weather-wise for the weekend and thankfully for Memorial Day, for all of the parades and celebrations. So today we planned a group ride to Port Washington. We met at Pete & Sue’s, and their neighbors Tom & Gail joined us. We had six bikes this trip. I planned almost all county and country roads zig-zagging our way down to Port. We were able to keep the group together for the most part and nothing too serious when we did get split up. We stopped for lunch at Shooner Pub and our timing was pretty lousy. A bunch of groups showed up the same time as us and it took an hour for our food. Which also took a good chunk out of our riding time for the way back, so I kept it on Hwy 32 north shortly after leaving Port all the way through Sheboygan Falls, then Cty J past Road America where some of the Monster and MotoAmerica transporters were there already for next weekend’s Superbike Weekend, then we stopped in Glenbeulah thinking there might be ice-cream, but not. So from there I took county roads to and through Mount Calvary and Saint Peter and then along Lake Winnebago on Lakeshore Drive. Only just under 150 miles today, however the weather was pretty near perfect for a ride. Thanks to all of our troops and fallen soldiers for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy the freedom’s we so easily take for granted at times. 🇺🇸
