Saturday, August 1st Elkhart Lake & Manitowoc

I started the day by taking my bike to my Cousin’s shop to have my defective fuel gauge sensor and damaged clutch lever replaced. Upon returning after my workout at the gym he was just about done with it and Kevin texted me saying he was out with a hose and bucket of suds cleaning his bikes, so I decided to join him because my bike was in dire need of a good bath. After that we decided to go for a ride since the dew points were tolerable. We met back up at my place and headed east toward Elkhart Lake and Lake Michigan because the temps were still in the 80s and I had gift certificates (courtesy of my cuz Deb) for Off the Rail where we shared an excellent pita sandwich and then we meandered north to Chilton and east to Manitowoc. We stopped at a wayside/observation area along Lake Michigan in Manitowoc to take a stretch, relax and cool off. As we were getting ready to leave a couple who parked by our bikes asked about ours, etc. Come to find out he used to own an ST 1300 too years ago and now owns a Victory. Nice couple… Larry & Cindy. From there we ventured to Cedar Crest ice-cream near the south side of Manitowoc for a cool-down cone. From there we headed south along the Lake Michigan shores on LS past Whistling Straits where we could see them preparing for the PGA tournament happening there next week and into Sheboygan before heading west back home. 146 miles this trip and map below.
