June 11 Road America

So myself and a few friends did a thing today, we took our bikes out on the track at Road America for the Salute to Cycles lunch break ride. So glad we did this today even though it was so hot, but much fewer bikes than we seen the remainder of the weekend for it. Only around 25 bikes for today.

We were told a maximum of 35 mph and that there are 41 cameras around the track. So, if they caught us doing anything against the rules we would be removed from the track.

We were almost at the very end of the group and only a pace car in front and at the back. After the first lap we were spread out pretty good. Which makes me tend to think the first pace car was going above the restricted mph. After we passed a little vintage single cylinder Suzuki, it pretty much became a free-for-all for us. With both Alan and Scott passing me. I never looked, but I am sure I was doing at least 50-60 through the carousel and probably more in the Kettle Bottoms. I eventually couldn’t even see Alan and Scott, and later found out Scott had it up 85 mph.

It was so much fun and as I mentioned, we were so glad we decided to do it on Friday with not so many participants.
