I had originally planned a ride with a gal I used to work with at Weasler, but she had some family coming to visit in the Cedarburg area. Although she still wanted to ride and invited me to join her for the visit with them, I told her to go ahead and enjoy her family time since I had another option to ride with Alan today and his friend, Dale.
We met up at Alan’s in West Bend around 11 with intentions of going to Fishbone’s Cajun and Creole Restaurant in Delafield for lunch and then some more riding.
We took some back roads out of West Bend. One in particular that Kevin and I were on earlier this year when they were still refinishing it, Beaver Dam Road. Sad that there is a bunch of gravel already in all the nice curves! We took Hwy 144 along Cedar Lake and through Slinger and then Scenic Drive south. After crossing Hwy 167 we took some back roads around Holy Hill. One I remember for sure was St. Augustine Road. We eventually ended up on Hwy 83 south into the Delafield area before getting to our destination for lunch, Fishbone's.
It was probably around 12:30 when we got there. Just a short wait and we were seated out on the deck. Service and food were excellent. Probably the best service I’ve had yet this year while out on the bike. From there we tooled around the area by some of the lakes and then headed north on Cty P. We stopped by Hwy 60 and Cty P so Alan could tell us he was eventually going to take some back roads west off of Cty P, but would get me to Theresa before they would drop off to head back to West Bend. Which we did. However, there were several times I wasn’t able to see Alan’s directionals when the sun was at his back, and inevitably it was too late at one turn he took just southeast of Mayville. So, I waved good-bye and continued on Cty P to Hwy 175 north back to town.
My tracker stopped after the first half of my ride, so I improvised and created my own map to Delafield. Which is why there are two below. I put in around 160 miles today. Just enough because it had gotten pretty warm. Great time and good company!
