I planned a ride with some folks (eight bikes) through the Northern Kettles today. Although yesterday was much nicer, weather wise, I couldn’t ride then because we held a family celebration of life for our Father.
We were supposed to have kickstands up at 1:00, but when I went to start my bike at noon it wouldn’t even turn over. My neighbor tried jumping it with his bike, but nothing. I plugged the tender back in, however, realized that would take too long. So, I went to Batteries Plus and bought a new battery. It took me 15 minutes to swap out the old one and I got there right around 1:13.
We proceeded to Kewaskum on Hwy 45 with a planned stop at the gas station by Sunburst before heading over into the Kettles. I also opted to take Oak Road between Cty H and Hwy 28 before hitting Scenic Drive. We rode all the way to Green Bush before stopping to see if anyone wanted to keep going to the Sheboygan Marsh, but most wanted to head back, including me since it was pretty darn chilly.
We took Cty T to Old Fourth Street Road back to town.
Didn’t get a chance to stop to take any pictures of scenery, but the fall foliage was pretty much prime where we rode today. And… wouldn’t you know it, the sun came out just before getting back to town. Only 85 miles today. Fun ride and fun group. Thankfully they didn’t mind me leading. ;)
