I planned to ride this weekend with the temps being very unseasonably warm. Today I had a group join me to head for Holy Hill. The same group I had planned to make this trip with last weekend when my bike wouldn’t start. So I am very glad I was able to redeem myself for that.
We originally planned to stop for lunch at Rock the House, but upon arriving found out they are temporarily closed due to COVID. So we decided to go to the Mindshaft instead in Hartford.
From there we took Hwy 83 to 167 with a stop at my favorite spot along Hwy 167 and Dumlin Road to take photos of Holy Hill from the west. I brought my good camera with 10x zoom for this, hence my iPhone cannot zoom that far without being blurry. From there we proceeded on Dumlin to Donegal which runs south of Holy Hill, then onto Emerald, St Augustine to Hogsback Road. I told the guys to be on the lookout for the Goatman on Hogsback. Unfortunately we could not report any sightings. From there Hubertus Road to Scenic Road to Hwy 175 again. When we got to Theresa I decided to take Hwy 28 to Mayville, then V and Y to get to Breakneck Road before heading into Oakfield and then home on Cty D.
I inadvertently turned my tracker off when we stopped for lunch in Hartford. So, I had to photoshop the map, but I am pretty certain it was around 110 miles today. Although hardly any fall foliage left, it was still a bomb of a day to ride.
