We made plans to meet my sister for lunch in Allenton for the local Lion’s Club brat fry at the Mobile gas station. There was a little bit of rain around, but that never stops us from taking the bikes. Except… upon rolling mine out to get ready to go, Kevin noticed a couple of spots on my back tire where the cables were showing. I have known it was near the end of its life span since my last trip to Winona, but not that bad since the past two rides. So, back in the garage it went and onto the back of Kevin’s bike for me. Better safe than sorry and I don’t need to break myself again!
I had planned a route to take us from Allenton to Slinger, Hartford and down near Holy Hill before heading back north. However, the road we wanted to take from Slinger to Hartford was under construction, so we ended up having to take an alternative route and the GPS never got us to the correct road out of Hartford.
However, we still ended up at the Ice Cream Station in Horicon and by that time it was starting to get sunny and very heated. So, a shorter ride was okay because of this.
