Luckily for me Kevin shot a Jake very early today during his turkey hunting this week, so he was able to get home for a ride today and I needed some help because when we prepped my bike for winter last season we added too much oil during the oil change and I wasn’t about to ride my bike too far before releasing the extra oil and I didn’t have the correct tools to take care of it myself.
Since it wasn’t a planned ride we didn’t have a destination except knew we both wanted to stop somewhere for lunch since it was almost 1 o’clock and neither of us had eaten yet. I suggested Three Guys and a Grill so that is where we headed, but on our way there we’d pass the Red Cabin and I was very hungry so we stopped there instead. From there I had thoughts of taking back roads to Dundee and then where ever. We ended up going south through the Kettle Moraine out of Dundee then west before West Bend.
Since we were so close to Kevin’s folks’ place on our way back, we stopped by them for a little bit. From there we ended up stopping in Kekoskee to check out the Rock River and Dam because after receiving more than four inches of rain in past three days we were curious to see its status, and especially since we saw lots of flooding during our ride today. It was pretty furious and of course crested on the opposite side.
Only 100 miles for me today, but an okay first ride to start the season
