I had planned for my annual Thanksgiving visit with Dad and Candy. Weather was going to be great for traveling without any snow. I arrived shortly before lunch on Thanksgiving Day and picked Candy up at the house to have lunch with Dad. Dad was in really good spirits and even joked quite often throughout the day. He even noticed my new glasses. It was so nice to see him in such good spirits! Later that evening I visited him for a little while before returning to have dinner with Candy. Needless to say we didn’t need much for dinner after filling our bellies earlier in the day. The next morning Dad was pretty wiped out as I expected, and they had laid him down for a nap before lunch. I decided to take advantage of the 50+ temps by walking two laps around the small lake. After having a late breakfast with Candy we met Dad in the clinic for a procedure on his toe, then met back up with him in the nursing home for a visit. Shortly after Dad’s dinner time I paid him another visit before returning to the house for my dinner with Canders and a movie… A Dog’s Purpose is what we watched and it was a very touching movie! The next morning I headed to see Dad before leaving and he was pretty groggy, but I hung out with him until it was time for his lunch and then I headed home. Another good day for traveling… sunny and in the forties. Both evenings when I left the home there was an awesome view of Sugar Loaf with a star and crescent moon, but my iPhone couldn’t focus in on it no matter what I tried. Even after enhancing it in photoshop, they were still very blurry but it was so cool. Next time I will bring the 10x zoom camera!
